Inter-caste marriages According to 2014-census report, only 5.82% of Indian marriages were inter-caste,an unaltered rate over 45 years. Indian constitution elucidate about Special Marriage Act-1954 : "The act provides a specific design for Indians, all Indian nationals in foreign countries (irrespective of religion/faith followed by either party."The act was derived from a specific legislation proposed in late 19th century.The legislation is endorsed by financial help to the couple who enter on inter-caste marriages. It is legally permitted in The Hindu marriage Act-1955. The latest proposal by central government-2006 would give 50,000 rupees/A$1100 to couples who enter on inter-caste marriages,across all the states. Absolutely, inter-caste marriages are going to be the concluding frontier for caste annihilation .
