Khadi :Tradition to fashion

Under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, khadi-making regained the momentum &became a symbol of revolution &resistance.It also provided employment to the vast rural population & achieved a distinct identity as a common man's cloth.
It was Mahatma Gandhi who in 1918 brought the focus of India's freedom struggle to khadi by promoting it as a swadeshi symbol.
After independence, the khadi village &  commission (KVIC),initiated research in the manufacturing techniques & weapons to improve quality & promote khadi products.
Khadi is also manufactured from silk &wool known as khadi silk & khadi wool .

Khadi is best known for its rugged texture, comfortable feel & ability to keep people warm in winter while keeping them cool during summer.

Really? :per the Indian flag code, khadi is the only material allowed to be used for the flag. Use of any other material is an offence & punishable by law with imprisonment up to 3 years with a fine

                     सौंदर्य_ मेरे होने से तेरा होना है?              जिस दिन सादगी श्रृंगार हो जाएगी,                    हर आइने की हार हो जाएगी। सौंदर्य की ओर आकर्षण सहज है, उस पर भी स्त्री का सौंदर्य तो संसार का आधार है। यही तो वह माया है जिसने मुझे और आपको बांध रखा है, अन्यथा तो हम सब स्वामी चिन्मयानंद होते। किन्तु क्या स्त्री का सौंदर्य, सच में माया है? कदापि नहीं। ' शक्ति' अर्थात सती ( या पार्वती) के सौंदर्य का बखान करते तो वेद- पुराण नहीं थकते, किन्तु क्या वो कभी शिव के शिवत्व में बाधा बनीं? कभी नहीं। वरन् शिव तो शक्ति के बिना शव से हैं। सौंदर्य  का आशय गोरेपन, चंचल आंखों, पतली कमर या किसी हॉलीवुड मॉडल के रूप से ही नहीं है। एक स्त्री का कोमल मन, सरल हृदय, श्रद्धा भाव, समर्पण, सहनशीलता, शुद्ध चरित्र एवं स्वाभिमान भी बेहद मायने रखते हैं। सौंदर्य के पैमाने मेरे या आपके लिए अलग-अलग हो सकते है। हम भारतीयों में गोरे रंग का बहुत मान है (हो भी क्यों न, इतने सालों तक हमने गोरों की ग़ुलामी ही तो की) । यदि आप गोरी हैं तो क्या बात है और नहीं हैं तो 'हल्दी- बेसन
